Package Travel Directive effective on 1 July 2018

On 1 July 2018, the revised Package Travel Directive came into effect across the whole of the European Union. The new directive maximises the definition of a travel package. This means that since 1 July 2018, many businesses in the tourist sector effectively offer travel packages. This in turn means specific obligations for such businesses. For example, travellers must be protected against the business becoming financially insolvent. STO Garant provides a simple and affordable guarantee scheme to cover this.
